Does anyone have the Samsung MM-A940 or the MM-A970 camera phone? It seems to have a 2 megapixel still picture camera with camcorder features. I saw it walking through Best Buy last night and was wondering if it's any good. Has anyone shot photos or video with it? How's the quality? Do the photos and videos have to be sent over the cellphone network? Or can they be downloaded to the computer? Really interested at considering getting this camera phone for my wife. If you guys have any inputs, I'd really appreciate it.

Samsung SPH-A940 Features:
Bluetooth
2MP CCD camera with 2x optical zoom
PictBridge functionality
1.9" 176x220 262K internal display
Speech-to-text conversion technology along with full voice commands
TransFlash memory card slot
MIDP 2.0 enabled, MM capable
Unique twisting/swiveling camera/display
Dual stereo speakers with speakerphone
3-D games and user interface
Intenna
Motion-sensing capabilities (Beat Box, Compass, Commands, Games)

The above are its picture and specification. What is MIDP? What is MM? I never had a camera phone so I'm a bit confused with its features.

I have the Samsung SPH-A940. Great phone, loaded with features. Major problem at this time is the software:
a. Can't manage the 500 phone numbers. Software is non-existent.
b. Pictures can't be downloaded by cable. Need to use the Bluetooth or Sprint picture.pcs.com internet access.
c. It will connect to the Google.com/glm for getting directions off the internet, and display them well. But I stumbled across the software - it is not advertised anywhere.
d. If you install the Samsung.com or Sprint connection manager software, my FireFox browser misbehaves by saving my email notes in my root directory. If you use server software with Visual Studio.net. it prevents the user from creating software. In other words, you need to decide if you want to program with your computer or use it as a modem with the phone, but you can't do both.
e. Companies such as FutureDial, et.al. haven't caught up with their software to manage the files in the phone. They are a generation or two behind.
f. Sprint is happy to sell or rent the multimedia to you. Personally, I have no interest in any of that on a tiny screen. If it were possible to delete it and add other functionality to this phone I would.
Other than this, I would say that the phone has great features such as speakerphone, GPS so the 911 call can be tracked down, great ringtones, a decent camera (although the camera takes the pix after the flash goes off making for blurred pictures), bluetooth capabilities (transfer files, faxes, business cards, etc), and much more.

I had the phone till I ran it over on accident.(SPH-A940) It has a lot of great features but is hard to get. Though the camera is a little slow I can use my 512mb MSD card and take ~2 days of video with it. Plays games and browses the web great.
