HELP! HP Photosmart - batteries came out while shooting video!

I am at a loss as to what to do. In short, the batteries in my M22 hp photosmart came out while I was filming video. I want to recover the video if possible. There is a file on it that says HPIM0359.MPG 0 kb. But I think there is data on this chip from when I was filming. I checked the SD card capacity vs used indicates there is some space on the sd card that is unaccounted for.

Anyone know the technical details of how the M22 works, to shed light? My theory is that it does record the images while filming, but that pushing the button to end the video gives the program some sort of "closure" which makes it possible for Media Player to play it. I'd love to get that video. The camera was on a large model rocket, which crashed. That's when the batteries "came out".
