Interval shooting hack sought Coolpix 3700, 8400

Hi all-

I am hoping to find someone who can help my hack
my 3700 or 8400 so that I can change the timing
options for interval shooting. I shoot an enormous
amount of timelapse with these cameras, but I am
somewhat limited to one shot every 30 sec or 1 min
for most of my setups. I really need to be able to
shoot in the range of 3 - 15 seconds for certain
setups.

Can anyone help??

Thanks,

Matt

Hello, Sorry this message does not answer your film question. I am just searching for family members and came across you name in google. As you see we share the same surname. Are you interested in exchanging family details to see if there is a connection. Part of our family in the UK used to own Elstree film studios and produced films under the name Danciger Productions. Harry and Edward Danciger. Kind Regards, Melvyn.

Indeed this would be a great hack, 30 sec is very long period of time.

Also there is a limitation on the exposure as well, 8 sec the longest.

Asking the same question at nikon's official forum, they just replied to me saying that this is not possible. Too bad.

Hacking the firmware is the best solution. However, a laptop with the appropriate software -in order to control the exposure time as well- could give more professional results, but less portable.

I make a remote trigger that works with the 3700. I can set it to work as inntervalometer if you wish.

yeah wtf, nikon should be making software that lets you control every parameter so that you can design presets with your laptop then take them into the field. I say what the fuck because this is obvious is it not?
