Nikon Coolpix L20 Lens Stuck

My daughter had my nikon coolpix camera l20, apparently she dropped it, when i came out they handed me the camera with it off and the lens out. I plan on getting another camera if I can't play around with this one to get it working. I read the advice of how people have tried to fix similar situations. I turned the barrel and everything else, I push in on it and the barrel went back in. Now it won't come out, the camera comes on and you can see the screen of what the picture would be. I turn it off, and try holding in the shutter button while cutting i on to see if it will realign itself. No luck yet, I don't know if I have it in too far, or what do you have any advice?
