How to delete pictures from locked Memory Stick?

I have a Sony Mavica 1.2 megapixel camera. I am trying to delete the pictures on the memory stick and it tells me the memory stick is locked. How do I unlock it to delete the pictures.

Could it be that your Memory Stick's lock switch is set to the lock position? The lock switch is located on the bottom of the Memory Stick, next to the connectors (see picture below). Move the switch to the other end of the arrow to unlock the Memory Stick.

OMG, it's like Kerrie (just above) and I have the same testimony. It has been so frustrating for almost 3 months. I don't even know what made me think to google for help today, since I have done countless times in past weeks. I wish I would have seen your notes 3 months ago. Like Kerrie, thank you, thank you, thank you! Saved me from buying a new camera just because I was so fed up!
