Freeze that shot

Many shots are taken trying to catch an action. This captures a shot of a burst balloon. The balloon looks out of focus compared with the dart, but at the moment of bursting it trembles.

Great shot! (Haha . . . no pun intended at first, but now I see a great pun.)

What's your trick on getting that photograph? Sound detection trigger? Motion detection trigger? Excellent reflexes?

An adaptor I made years ago,before digital was thought of. I found it in an electronics book. Can be used as sound or light detection.
