ultra-slim full-featured compact digital camera

Today, I was driving down to the post office when I started thinking about the nice compact cameras that I have. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P92 is rather nifty because it has a lens adapter for me to attach accessory lenses. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T11 is nicer because it could fit in my pants pocket. But no accessory lenses can attach to it. Now it would be even nice if both cameras offer full manual control as my Canon EOS D30 does. Now why couldn't they make a digital camera that has filter thread, offer full manual control, and is super-slim?

And why couldn't I just go pick up a DSC-P92 when I wanted to shoot with accessory lenses? And why shouldn't I go pick up a D30 when I want full manual control. Well, I can when I am at home. And I probably could if I'm traveling by car. But not when I'm traveling without my own transportation. The last Hawaii vacation, I complained about carrying too many gears with me. During my Hawaii trip, there were some events where a shirt pocket camera is nice to have. There were some events that demanded a full-size SLR. So, my original desire was to carry one of each type of cameras. But after trying and failing to pack all of the different cameras, chargers, and batteries, I settled on two! And the two are neither the most compact, nor the biggest with all the nifty features. They were the two that would be ok for most situations. In the end, I really just wanted to carry one, one that can do everything.

A super-slim ultra-compact digital camera, with a filter thread and full manual control would allow me to take one camera and assorted accessories for all situations. When the situation calls for a shirt pocket camera, I'll just slip it in my pocket and leave everything else behind. When I could use all the accessories, I'll attach them to the camera and have myself a monster-cam. Now, wouldn't that be nice?
