ewa-marine D-CP2 Underwater Housing

Hello

I also have a DSC-P92 and have been looking into buying this casing. Your review is the most in depth by far.

However I do have a question: Can you use the optical zoom inside the housing?

Yes, you can. A plastic tube surrounds the front of the camera, providing space for the lens to extend and retract.

I have been searching the web for days to buy the ewa-marine D-CP2 underwater housing you described so well. (The ewa-marine website in Germany is useless for purchasing products on-line). Where in the world can I get this product on-line? I'd prefer a US dealer, but am open-minded to anywhere at this point. Thanks.

Hi - do you have any comments on the quality of the video mode with this camera/housing combination?

I have read that the Ewa Marine cases cause a lot of distortion in the pictures due to the lense they use; has anyone had this problem?

Thanks,
Bryan

It's not a lens. It's just a piece of glass. You can attach your own lens in front of that piece of glass (if you want to).

I hear the controls a hard to use in the water proof housing. Is this true or was the guy an idiot?

You should not be removing "excess air" That air is required as a cushion when pressure increases.

However, what is the maximum depth you reach with this flexible case?

Title: ewa-marine D-CP1 Underwater Housing Review
Weblog: Camera Hacker
Excerpt: I have the DCP1 Ewa Marine housing and it's completely useless. The whole thing is a joke. The flashlight of my olympus C-180 is directly under the edge of the lenses and reflects on it, causing big white spots on the pictures. And yes, this housing is recommended for this Olympus. The housing is 3 . . .
