Handling camera events on Windows in a GLUT application

Dear reader,

I'm working on an application which uses GLUT and the EDSK. I'm running
the canon edsdk in a separate thread so I don't have to wait when an image
gets downloaded.

On a Mac all works fine, but on Windows I don't get any object state events
from the camera (telling me i.e. an new image is available for download).

I was wondering is someone knows how to get the EDSK working on Windows when
using multiple threads?
