Gentle Tapping Fixed E:61:10 on My HDR-XR500

HDR-XR500
just had my camera in to sony for service costing me 400 dollars Canadian. Left for a year of travel filming a documentary and was in eastern Europe when i got E:61:10. Have to film in the morning, thought i was going to miss filming schedules, cost me thousands probably screw up my entire itinerary.
Few firm but gentle raps on the ground. It works!
Still have the error message flashing but that is fine. Focus and zoom seem to work properly once again. I hope it lasts...at least until i get back to a city with a proper service dealer. I hope I do not run into other problems in worse locations like the middle east or something.
I do not know what happened. I keep it in the solid case built for scuba diving pretty much all the time to protect from sand and water. peice of crap...great camera though.
I can not believe this works so consistently on different models!
