Sony Handy Cam 10 pin AV cable

I've got a Sony DCR-HC90E (The E being the European PAL version). I've used it with a 1/3" Sony Bullet Cam mounted on my helmet when, mountain biking, skydiving, skiing etc. It gives really good results and i'm happy with it - i've also got a small external ic wired up which fits inside my helmet, picks up my voice well, the voices of others around with at a nice level and due to its location behind some of the helmet padding it cuts out most wind noise.

However, my problem is with the damn AV cable that sony provide. It uses a stupid little 10pin connector which is a delicate little thing, and the plug extends a good 1.5 to 2 inches (by the time the cable bend radius is taken into acount) straight out of the side of the camera. This a) makes it very awkward to put in pocket and b) strains and bends the tiny socket on the camera. Has anyone managed to source a 90degree angled version of this cable...so that the lead runs along the length of the camera in what would be a much more sensible way??
