flash unavailable error E:91:01 on DCR-HC96

The flash on my DCR-HC96 cannot be used.
After switching on the flash the light started flashing.
And I got the message cannot load the flash. Flash unavailable.
Now the code E:91:01 and the flash symbol keep flashing in the display.
And the light at the back keeps flashing in my eye, when looking though the lens.
This started just a week after problems with the lens cap. see another thread.
- who has the solution for this other than sending it to Sony

Greetings from Holland, Rene

I am not an expert but I think that if you power on the camera with the connector between the flash capacitor and the mainboard disconnected this error code will be generated and it will not flash again until the code is cleared using a Sony RM95 tool.
