halogen lamp burned my lens?

I was setting up streaming video with my Sony DCR-TRV33 camcorder and had it aiming at the other desk - straight at a Halogen desktop lamp. Now, when I record, the colors are off and any light source causes horizontal streaming lines across the viewfinder and on recorded tapes. Have I ruined my camcorder? Is it maybe just that the heads need cleaning?

That would probably not have anything to do with the video head.

The lens elements acts as magnifying glass. That's really what a "zoom" means. So think of a magnifying glass in between a sun and a piece of paper. So I'm wondering if it did any physical damage to the CCD sensor chip or the glass right on top of it. Anyway, that's just my educated guess. I don't know if that is true or not.

Also, check to see if aperture, shutter speed, and/or white balance is locked in a specific setting. These setting being locked could give you these effects as well.
