RE Filter Removal, try heat it with an cloths iron, it should soften glue or if you cant use an iron to heat it, use a small 50 -100 w halogen lamp, just sit it on top of the lense. id try it with mine, but my kids would beat me up if i broke it.

the IR filter is actualy in the black plastic lense peace, not on the sensor

if you use a Green laser commonly used as a gun site, and available on the net let it sit pointed at the IR Filter for about 1hr

OK if you unscrew the lens fitting (the black cylindrical bit) the end that screws into the mount has a small cap (thumb nail will get it off) the IR filter is in there. piece of cake to get out. Hope this helps someone....
