I got a Nikon Coolpix 700 just over two years ago; it's seen a fair amount
of use, though not what I'd call heavy. Until now it's had no problems.
Yesterday, the display screen abruptly washed out. It's white, with a
series of vertical dark lines, and I can very faintly see shadowy text or
image through it.
I don't know of anything in particular that might have set it off--I don't
think it's been dropped, or got wet, or otherwise mistreated, recently.
If I remember correctly (I haven't rummaged around to find the paperwork)
I believe there was a one-year warranty on tht's out of warranty.
Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have ideas on repair? What experience
have people had with Nikon repair service? Is it time for me to just get
a new camera?
