SDHC Memory Card Fried in Non-SDHC Compatible Device

My 8 GB Kingston SD HC card from my Canon G10 apparantly got fried. It's toast!
I get "Memory Card Error", and "Card Locked" messages when I plug it into every reader I have, an HP PC, and HP Printer, other Canon and Panasonic Cameras.

It happened when I plugged it into a friends Mac using a Kingston SD to USB adapter, but the adapter was not marked as SD HC compatible.

Thanks Apple for not telling me you were cooking my card!

Equipment that will not accept SD HC cards SHOULD give you an error message.

Apple? What device did you stick it into to fry it?
