C:32:10 error with DCR-HC32

Any idea if there is a "slim" battery or "memory" battery on the DCR-HC32? I just spent 30+ minutes online with Sony tech support for my C:32:10 error. Was able to eject the tape by removing all power (battery and charger) for 15 seconds, opening the cassette door, reattaching the charger, and hitting reset. Tape ejected automatically, but upon inserting new tape and powering up, the C:32:10 error comes back. Sony wants $129 under warranty to fix this. Funny....was working fine when I put it on the charger...
