Extension for Sony Active Interface Shoe

I have a Sony Wireless Mic ECM HW1R, the problem is it makes the camera much larger. and I would like to put the wireless reciever in a pocket or bum bag that I carry the Sony DCR HC96 camera in. I would like to make a lead to fit between the hot shoe and the Mic Reciever. Where could I obtain the the male and female connectors that fit the hot shoe.
I have tried the obvous Maplins, Radio Spares, Keene, Seme etc. any ideas?
