I have a Sony HDR-Pj50e with error E:90:01, upon research i found out it was a capacitor that was bad, i fixed the capacitor as i am an Engineer, but apparently i require the firmware to wipe the error

I don't see why you'd need the firmware to wipe the error. Firmware is not modify-able by the software. The error may be stored in volatile memory. Is there a hidden reset button? Or take the battery out for a few hours to clear its memory. If the trouble doesn't go away, then maybe the new capacitor it's working either.
