No Sound When Capturing with Sony DV Media Convert2

Capturing live from camera is fine using Sony DV Media Converter2 (set for 16 bit audio). Problem is that there is no audio when the clip is put onto the timeline although clip plays in viewer. Levels are set ok (no mutes on). Could there be any capture settings at fault? Also When I look at the clip properties I see that the captured audio is at 32kHz not 44.1 or 48. Can this be changed?
