I have a Sony TRV315 camera sitting in my garage and was trying to hook it up to my computer, I bought a firewire to USB cable (from ebay) thinking this would do the trick, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. The computer does not recognize the device. Anyone have any advice on a driver or something I have to download.
Also, I have some old vhs tapes I would like to digitize and load onto my computer, if I ever get the above problem solved is it possible to use the TRV315 as a pass-thru device.
TIA

I think you have not properly installed all of ur device driver.
1st of all go and buy an universal driver CD and put in cd ROM , it'll automatically installe all the remaining drivers which has not been installed.
2nd. use the best video editing software for capturing . like
video capture master
supervideocap
magic video studio
honestech VHS to DVD 3.0
power director 8
video creator
sony vegas 9
ulead V.S. 12
