Did you want the USB driver or the Firewire driver? What operating system? Windows? Linux? Mac?

For USB on Windows, search for USBDRVEN.EXE on this site. It should work.

However, I suggest you use the Firewire port for better quality. Windows XP and Vista have built-in Firewire drivers.

What's IEE? Are you talking about the IEEE 1394 Firewire driver? It's built-into the Windows XP operating system. Is that the operating system that you are using?

I'm representing a group of us desperately looking for a solution. Trying to get Vista (Home Basic) to recognize our camcorder (Sony Digital 8 DCR-TRV 140). . just installed brand new firewire IEEE 1394 and computer recognizes that. . but evidently we need a driver and can't find one anywhere. . Vista claims that all we need is already there, but it isn't. . Sony just basically shrugs us off. . do hope you can help.

Yes. The Firewire driver is built-into most of today's modern operating systems. Because of that, you won't be able to download from anywhere; no one write it since it's already supplied.

Take a look at "Fixing the Windows XP Firewire Problem". It might solve your problem. It's written for XP, but should be similar on Vista. Post a screen shot of Device Manager if that doesn't solve your problem.

I have a problem. I am using a Vista operating system and i am trying to connect sony camcorder dcr-trv140 and I cannot use it with the Vista operating system. I am using a USB but it does not work. I am now going to buy a iLink wire (firewire). Do I need to be concerned regarding whether this will work? Also, I have a MAC but will this work on a MAC also? And the software for movie making...I dont have one...where do i get free software that is good and can make DVD and save it on to my external hard drive. Will I be able to do all this? As you can tell I am a novice. Thanks for your answers...
