I have a Sony DCR-HC96. Has worked flawlessly for about 18 months. Now it refuses to play back the tapes. It still records on video and stills. I can view and download the stills. When I try to play back the tape [either on the built in vid screen or to down load I get a message to 'reinstert the cassette'. Doing the reinsertion does not help. I've tried that many time.
Does anyone know about this fault and is there any secret trick to cure this or do I have to spring for a repair bill?
If so give me a competent repair shop referral. Thanks jac
