To transfer/edit discs formatted in video mode, place disc in DVD drive, open VIDEO_TS folder, copy XXXX.VOB files to PC. If in 16:9 use fix12c to correct aspect ratio. Rename XXXX.VOB to XXXX.MPG. Use Womble Mpeg Video Wizard to edit. Use Nero to author DVD.

This camera is a major pain in the ass. If you are just after a simple life and want to be able to edit your home movies here is how:
1. Install DVDZip! onto your computer
2. Insert your original 'finalised' dvd disc into your computer
3. Convert your 'VOB movie file' into an MPEG. (VOB is the stupid format that Sony use to save your movies)
4. Transfer the new shiny MPEG file to 'Windows Movie Maker' and voila. You can edit, add music, pictures, text and even save on web-based facilties such as YouTube etc.
No USB required and relatively no hassle. Good luck!
