trv350 over exposed

have a sony trv350. Same ran great for a while. Works great inside or in shadows. If I go into daylight, the picture is over exposed and cannot be modified. Switching from Camera to Memory the picture clears a little. I have tried the manual and technical chat but all they want to have me do is send to factory for $200+++++. Any suggestions out there? thanks.....
