You do realize there's a MUCH better way of transferring video between cameras, right? You'd get better quality transfer for a lower price if you just get a standard stereo 3.5mm cable. And I mean, you say you weren't sure they used the same pin layout...which shows you don't have a whole lot of electronics experience...that'd be like two computers using a different pin layout for USB. I mean, yes, the iPod video uses a different layout, but that's just because they have to have to in order to have the audio work right with standard headphones, since both output from the same port.

Actually, no, one of those cables was stereo autio PLUS video, while the other was simply monaural audio plus video. Were they both mono+vid Arochone's suggestion would have been brilliant. However, the stereo+vid cable has 4 contacts, not 3. Unfortunately, the couplings, y-adapter, and 2 cables WERE needed.
