Any way to store photos directly to USB drive?

I have a CF Type I camera and a portable USB drive. It sure would be great to capture photos directly to the 128MB USB drive capacity. Does anyone know a way to mate the USB drive with the camera's CFI interface? Otherwise, please help me understand why this adaptation cannot be done.

Interesting that you asked this question, because about an hour ago, I made a "wish" post that is related to what you are asking . . .

USB Digital Drive on every digital camera?

This doesn't answer your question, but hopefully someone with more USB/CompactFlash knowledge would chime in.

Well, I suppose a data copier is the solution until manufacturers start putting USB host controllers right on the camera.
