Get Data Off a Damaged SD Card

Is there any way to get files off an sd card that is cracked and unreadable to a computer? The tip of the SD card chipped off and now neither the camera NOR the computer can read it. All the inside is in tact it's just the plastic casing thats damaged! HELP! I have pics I NEED to download!

Yes. If only the plastic casing has failed, then, hopefully, the internal circuitry is fine. And you can possibly perform a minor hack to retrieve the data.

First, I would buy a extremely inexpensive SD Card reader. It should be inexpensive, because you may have to take it apart and perform minor modification on it. Here is a list of inexpensive SD Card readers. Price shown includes free Super Saver shipping to keep the cost down.

Try the card in this reader on your computer. If you can get data off, then great, you are done. If not, take apart this inexpensive SD Card reader and make sure that the SD Card is in contact with the pins of the readers. You may have to do some cutting or soldering to get a good connection. That should do the trick.
